Yesterday, I organized a bottle drive that spanned Fort Erie, Ridgeway, and Stevensville, in support of frontline healthcare workers.
The numbers break down as follows:
- 7 hours
- 46 local pickups
- 2 full utility trailers
- 2 full truck beds
- 5629 empties
- 3415 beer bottles
- 1354 beer cans
- 303 liquor bottles
- 557 wine bottles
I’ve got no idea how the math works out but, in the end, a total of $765 was donated, on behalf of Fort Erie residents, to Douglas Memorial Hospital.
I consider that a huge win.
Special thanks to The Beer Store for (safely) facilitating our returns and to everyone who donated their empties.
