First we lost the Fort Erie Times. Then we lost the Fort Erie Post. And somewhere in between, Bill C-18 became law which resulted in news links being altogether banned from Facebook.

Talented local journalists found themselves out of work. Small business owners were left with fewer places to advertise. But most importantly, our town found itself quickly becoming a news desert.

As you may have already heard, I decided to do something in response. I launched Fort Erie Radio back in March, an internet radio station broadcasting 24/7 from Queen Street.

Fort Erie Radio is available via free iOS and Android apps, Alexa devices, and at forterieradio.ca.
